Down Stage Write are thrilled to be part of With Flying Colours, a brand new play-making and performance programme for the children and young people of Plymouth

SIR JOHN HUNT

We’ve been working with students from Sir John Hunt school. In summer 2021 we worked with a group of Year 8 pupils to write and create an audio podcast drama based on their ideas. You can listen to ‘The Approach’ below and read about the process on our blog.

We’ll be back with the school from Autumn 2021 to Summer 2022 developing a school play written by the young people in Year 7 and 8. Stay tuned to this page for more details

POP UP COMMISSION

In Summer 2021 we were also commissioned by WFC to create a pop up performance to tour to primary schools in the city.

Based on workshops with young people about Freedom and Friendship as lockdown lifted local playwright Kate Ellis wrote ‘Shields’ which told the story of two friends on a quest towards their summer.
